Golden Girl

Played by: 白・黒魔道士 Annet Leontyne (ronin_ceta)

Overview

Full name Candace Flynt. Med student at a university in South Night City, near the combat zone. Taking edgerunner jobs on the side to pay her way through school — she’s genuinely broke, and spent almost everything she had on character creation. Medical knowledge is real but still developing; she runs out of supplies on her first real job and has to figure it out as she goes.

Appearance

University student. Has a cyber arm with a pop-up shield (not yet fully configured at session zero; confirmed operational in Session 06). Carries a shotgun (ROF 1) — not a marksman by her own admission.

Known Facts

  • Role: Medtech (student)
  • Full name: Candace Flynt
  • Enrolled at a university near South Night City / the combat zone
  • Parents are alive; live on the outskirts of Night City in something like the suburbs; work regular nine-to-five jobs and can’t financially support her
  • Lives at Schroeder’s Theater — an abandoned theater near the university that functions as a student squat; Second Sons provide loose protection
  • Hangs out at Pixel Dust, an arcade near the university, after classes
  • Kenny Log-ins’ nickname for her: “Goldie”
  • Roommate/close friend: unnamed — flagged as a potential story hook
  • Has had various flings but no serious relationships; focused on school
  • The crew is one of her odd jobs — she’s providing field medicine in exchange for pay
  • Has a pop-up shield cyberware in her cyber arm (not yet installed/configured at session zero)
  • Noted by the group as the primary field medic; first aid roll during the tutorial was exceptional
  • Session 05: determined the safest way to force-administer Choo-Two (oral, for slow bloodstream entry) via a Medical Tech roll; performed an improvised blood transfusion from Kenny to save Professor Jackson from organ failure; healed and carefully dosed Misty afterward; later healed Shoa Ling with Speedheal
  • Session 06: her cyberarm’s pop-up bulletproof shield confirmed on-screen for the first time (previously flagged as unconfigured since Session 00) — used it protecting Misty during the Continental Brands raid; took 5 damage from a shot meant for Misty and was the only crew member to take significant damage in the fight; treated Misty’s wounds afterward
  • Session 07: player absent; stayed behind at Goose Salvage with Misty rather than travel to Ziptown. Misty appealed directly to her (in absentia) for help freezing what’s left of The Calling via cryogenics — no answer given on-screen. Received her share of the crew’s Session 07 payout and IP despite being absent, per the DM’s stated policy of not letting absent players fall behind
  • Session 08: leveled MedTech (300 IP), choosing a second point in cryosystems over pharmaceuticals — gained her own personal cryotank, movable and independent of the campus facility she previously had access to; treats it as insurance in case the crew’s work ever calls for it; paid 100 EB for emergency medical work patching up wounded Piranhas after an internal firefight left the leaderless gang fighting itself over continued Vilify use
  • Session 09: spent the trip to the Blacktop Saints’ camp studying. Asked to wake up a passed-out Felix, she swatted him across the face with her textbook without looking up and went back to studying

Relationships

  • Kenny Log-ins — co-worker (first job together); he set up her cyberware
  • Fix-it-Felix — co-worker (first job together)
  • Mr. Zip — co-worker (first job together)
  • Broker — co-worker (first job together)
  • Dr. Brightowski — her regular ripper doc; installed her cyber arm
  • Professor Jackson — KCU MedTech professor; holds her in high regard (“one of my best students”)
  • “Misty Cerulean” — KCU classmate; recognized her on sight but wasn’t really acquainted with her

Open Questions

  • Who is her roommate?

Appearances

  • Session 00 — Character introduced
  • Session 01 — Arrived late (was at Pixel Dust); field medic on the crew’s first job
  • Session 02 — Brought the crew to Dr. Brightowski; went undercover at Nexus Mods as an unnamed student wanting a laser arm; rolled Medical Tech to assess the clinic’s equipment (unsanitary, below-standard); used Speedheal on Felix mid-combat; located the data cube during the Continental Brands standdown
  • Session 03 — Agreed to CB retainer (“gotta pay that tuition somehow”); manufactured 4 Speedheal doses during downtime (crit roll); did trauma team backup work for 100 EB; brought the crew to Professor Jackson at KCU; confirmed nanomachines in Vilify under a Nexus Mods microscope; examined Martin Gorsky’s chemical diagram (serotonin references identified); found Martin’s private folder instead of useful leads
  • Session 04 — Recognized “Misty Cerulean” as a KCU classmate she barely knew; questioned whether Misty needed help or was too far gone; brought the crew to Professor Jackson’s apartment at 2 AM to arrange her treatment
  • Session 05 — Determined the safest method to force-administer Choo-Two; performed an emergency blood transfusion from Kenny to save Professor Jackson; healed and dosed Misty; healed Shoa Ling with Speedheal ahead of the Continental Brands confrontation
  • Session 06 — First on-screen use of her cyberarm’s pop-up shield, protecting Misty; took 5 damage shielding her from a shot; treated Misty’s wounds after the Continental Brands raid
  • Session 07 — Player absent; stayed with Misty at Goose Salvage; appealed to for cryogenics help with The Calling
  • Session 08 — Leveled MedTech, choosing a second point in cryosystems for her own personal cryotank; earned 100 EB treating wounded Piranhas after their internal firefight
  • Session 09 — Studied through the Blacktop Saints trip; woke Felix with a textbook to the face
