Fix-it-Felix

Played by: robotpoop
Overview
Last name Bargeld (German: “cash”). German. A fixer who knows everybody and can get anything. Loner by nature — doesn’t like connections and doesn’t let people get close. Not a bad guy, exactly. Not entirely on the level either.
Appearance
Works out of a room in the back of a shop (location TBD). Carries a digital harmonica he cannot play but thinks is very cool.
Known Facts
- Role: Fixer
- German
- Family was killed — circumstances unknown
- Works alone; dislikes emotional entanglements
- People come to him when they need something sourced or arranged
- Has enemies: former clients with bad deals, people who’d be happy to see him dead
- Has an established working relationship with Mr. Zip — Mr. Zip is high on his list for getaway drivers and smuggling runs
- Knows Sloan Enderman (bar owner); history: a friend of Felix’s slept with Sloan’s bridesmaid; Sloan was on the couch for weeks; they are still on speaking terms
- Sourced Sloan’s current office desk (IKEA-adjacent, held together with duct tape)
- Takes jobs professionally and seriously despite operating outside the law
- Only takes one shot per turn (ROF 1 weapon); tends to aim for headshots
- Showed unusual interest in Vilify and the drug scene during Session 01; said he was “going through some stuff”
- Self-identifies as having OCD — explicitly declined a drug offer from the Piranhas: “I’ve got issues, my friend. I’ve got OCD”
- Gets absorbed by odd tangents mid-mission (fixated on a side conversation about turnips with high Vilify users while on the job) — uses detail-focus and humor as deflection under stress
- Calls Sloan Enderman his “best friend” (possibly optimistic given their history); deflects when pressed about what’s going on between them
- Has strong opinions about hot dogs: “I never trust a man who puts ketchup on his hot dog.” Returned to this point multiple times across Session 02; it is a genuine character position
- Session 04 confirmed one of his life path enemies: Ledger (real name unrevealed), a former client from an old smuggling job that went bad — biological samples turned out hotter than advertised, the deal exploded, people died, and Ledger did three years in prison for it while Felix’s crew quietly walked away. Ledger believes Felix knew the cargo was dangerous and said nothing — Felix never actually confirmed or denied this when confronted
- Paid off Ledger’s 500 EB debt (collected, with 500 EB to spare, from Martin Gorsky/The Calling) to close the matter — Ledger considers it squared, but the underlying accusation was never addressed
- Closed Zach the Hot Dog Maniac’s long-standing data cube offer this session: handed over a cube, received the full 3,000 EB, split with the crew
- Took Kenny up on synthcoke before the sewer crawl (Broker had turned it down first) — a notable contrast to his established self-identified OCD and past drug refusal with the Piranhas; passed his resistance roll, no addiction, +1 REF for 4 hours
- Session 05: took synthcoke again the next morning and started feeling withdrawal effects by the afternoon — a growing dependency now worth tracking
- Session 06: bluffed a CB guard (“I was just looking for the bathroom… Mr. Continental called us in to give you guys some help”) to buy time rather than fight; landed a killing blow on a guard mid-firefight; took another dose of Kenny’s synthcoke afterward — dependency continuing
- Session 07: approached by Zach the Hot Dog Maniac with a new job from his still-unnamed employers — sneak to the Moon, procure a sample of Continental Brands’ low-gravity chemical, and gather intel, for 1,000 EB each; negotiated ten hot dogs up front as good faith and said he’d check with the crew before committing
- Session 07: haggled a week of synthcoke down to 100 EB and split half with Kenny (“you get me high, I get you high” — the two now call themselves “Bump Brothers”); signed a local rockerboy to a gig for a 12% cut (200 EB); a bribery skill upgrade glitched on the VTT and had to be manually fixed by the DM
- Session 08: installed a chipware socket and a subdermal grip into a cyberarm, taking humanity loss on both; got a smartgun link installed for his pistol (+2 total attack bonus); leveled Operator to rank 5 (300 IP)
- Session 08: shared synthcoke with Kenny before the Ziptown trip and, while high, told him about growing up in Germany with a family butler who introduced him to drugs and made an unwanted advance on him as a kid — recounted it almost fondly, in contrast to how visibly it unsettled Kenny; also revealed a childhood dog later replaced with a cyberdog that eventually turned cyberpsycho
- Session 08: called Ledger for intel on the Blacktop Saints ahead of the crew’s planned race; both his haggling roll (for Radovan’s smart glasses) and his item-sourcing roll (for Kenny’s assault rifle, via Sloan Enderman) went badly this session — no discounts, full price on both
- Session 09 (player absent; DM-voiced): deep in synthcoke dependency. He woke up in withdrawal, begged Kenny for a fix, and specifically wanted Kenny’s botched “brown” synthcoke over the good product he’d bought himself (“that brown shit hits different”). He spent the rest of the day high, checked out, passed out in the car, tumbling out the door when it opened, and trailing uncomfortably close behind Kenny. Kenny told the crew Felix “might have a problem”
- Session 09: stayed hidden in the car when Ledger asked for him by name at the Blacktop Saints’ camp. Ledger wants him to stop by to “catch up about old times” over synth mint juleps. The crew agreed any negotiation with Ledger, and sourcing a nitrous upgrade for the Zipmobile, will need Felix
Relationships
- Mr. Zip — established working relationship; reliable driver/smuggler
- Kenny Log-ins — co-worker (first job together)
- Golden Girl — co-worker (first job together)
- Broker — co-worker (first job together)
- Ledger — former client, life path enemy; debt now settled, but their history was never fully aired out
Open Questions
- What “stuff” is he going through? He mentioned it twice and deflected both times
- What happened to his family?
- Does Ledger still believe Felix knew about the hot cargo and said nothing?
- Are there other life path enemies still out there from past bad deals?
- What’s actually going on between him and Sloan Enderman? The “best friends” claim doesn’t quite match the history
- Which data cube did Zach’s employers actually end up with — the real one, the fake, or something Kenny altered?
- Where exactly does he work out of? (location TBD)
Appearances
- Session 00 — Character introduced
- Session 01 — Led the Enderman’s approach; blurted “WHOOP WHOOP” at the Piranhas; got the crew talking about Dr. Willie
- Session 02 — Received Zach’s data-cube swap offer (3,000 EB; told the party openly); talked the crew through finding the clinic; started the countdown for the street race; smooth-talked the cleaning lady during the break-in (partially convincing); grappled her after Kenny’s stun shot; took multiple shotgun hits from the clinic guards; cleared two guards with reaction shots
- Session 03 — Absent (player absent; DM voice-acted him briefly as comic relief — “shot in the voice box”); Kenny took the drugs found at Nexus Mods to give to him; the fake data cube decision awaits his return
- Session 04 — Contacted by Ledger, a life path enemy from an old smuggling job; met him at Crystal Lily and paid off his debt; led the negotiation with The Calling in the sewers; closed Zach’s data cube deal for 3,000 EB
- Session 05 — Started developing a synthcoke dependency (withdrawal symptoms by the afternoon); tried to source nanomachine fabrication equipment through fixer contacts (too slow/expensive); offered his synthcoke as a cure-all to Shoa Ling
- Session 06 — Bluffed a CB guard to avoid a fight; landed a killing blow during the raid on Continental Brands; took more synthcoke afterward
- Session 07 — Offered a Moon job by Zach the Hot Dog Maniac; haggled and split a week of synthcoke with Kenny; signed a rockerboy client
- Session 08 — Installed a subdermal grip and smartgun link; leveled Operator to rank 5; shared an unusually personal story with Kenny; called Ledger for Blacktop Saints intel; both his haggling and sourcing rolls went badly
- Session 09 — Player absent; DM-voiced as high and checked out; begged Kenny for bad synthcoke; hid from Ledger in the car; received IP in absentia
