The Piranhas

Overview

A rocker booster gang operating in the strip-mall and rubble zone just south of South Bay, at the edge of the combat zone. Signature sound: WHOOP WHOOP. “All they care about is loud noises, getting high, and getting boosted.”

Territory

Headquartered just past the Kowalski Clinic, at the southernmost edge of the South Bay neighborhood before it becomes full combat zone. The Second Sons actively oppose their drug distribution in the broader area.

Operations

  • Mid-tier distributors of Vilify — bought from Dr. Willie, sold wholesale to outlets; street-level distribution ran through Sloan Enderman to venues like Enderman’s bar
  • Stole the Continental Brands shipping container from South Bay docks on Dr. Willie’s instructions — the Nonh chemical hidden inside was the target; the Piranhas were allowed to keep the chocolate kibble
  • Not the manufacturers — self-described as “distribution, not retail”
  • Vilify supply now dry — Nexus Mods raided and Dr. Willie in CB custody; as of Session 03, Enderman’s has pulled the $15 Vilify sign and the glowing-eyed crowd has cleared out
  • Vilify reached street users via party gangers — customers who distributed flyers; not gang members; three spotted near Kowalski Clinic (Session 02)
  • One of the party gangers (Samuel) accidentally confirmed the Dr. Willie manufacturing connection on the street before being dragged away by a companion

Known Members

  • Shoa Ling — former gang leader, partially high on Vilify during the crew’s Session 01 visit; found in Session 05 badly wounded and fully assimilated into The Calling, leaving the gang without a leader
  • Brad — enforcer
  • Rick and James — downstairs during the crew’s visit; deep in an argument about the world’s largest turnip

Relationship with the Crew

The crew infiltrated the Piranhas’ hideout in Session 01. Broker bought their way out for 500 EB (10 doses of Vilify) plus a crate of Continental Brands chocolate kibble. Relations: tense but not openly hostile on departure.

  • Session 08: fully leaderless without Shoa Ling, the gang has fractured internally — a faction that refused to keep taking Vilify apparently fought the rest of the gang in a firefight, treated afterward by Golden Girl

Open Questions

  • What exactly is their connection to the Continental Brands container theft?
  • Do they know what was actually in the container?
  • Who, if anyone, is filling the leadership vacuum left by Shoa Ling?
  • Will the internal fracture destroy the gang entirely, or produce a new leader?

Appearances

  • Session 01 — Investigated and infiltrated; Vilify supply chain and Dr. Willie’s name extracted
  • Session 02 — Party gangers (customers) spotted distributing Vilify flyers near Kowalski Clinic; loose talk confirmed the full manufacturing chain; Vilify supply disrupted by the Nexus Mods raid
  • Session 03 — Confirmed by Dr. Willie as wholesale buyers; Sloan Enderman named as their street distributor; supply fully dry
  • Session 05 — Leader Shoa Ling found badly wounded and fully assimilated into The Calling; healed and armed by the crew ahead of the Continental Brands confrontation
  • Session 08 — Fractured into internal infighting over continued Vilify use, leaderless without Shoa Ling; wounded members treated by Golden Girl
