Ziptown

Overview
Mr. Zip’s home nomad camp — the actual origin of his own nickname (“Zip” comes from Ziptown, not the other way around, though he lets the rest of the crew believe otherwise). A Serbian nomad clan, warm to their own and openly wary of outsiders, run in practice by matriarch Mira Stojanovic. Real rocks, real home cooking, and a lot of tracksuits — “leisure wear central.”
Known Facts
- Serbian nomad clan; Radovan (“Rad,” i.e. Mr. Zip) is a well-known and well-loved member — kids get visibly excited when he returns
- Suspicious of outsiders by default, especially anyone reading as corporate; Broker’s Escalante fashion drew open curiosity and kept-distance stares
- Territorially tense with the Pacifica Confederacy, who have recently made camp uncomfortably close by; Mira warned they may be “gathering for something bigger”
- Not equipped to fence high-profile stolen goods outright (“we are not bank”), but willing to absorb a vehicle like a stolen Continental Brands helicopter into the camp’s own fleet after conversion, at a negotiated price
- Has its own mechanic, Vesna Ratchet, who handles vehicle upgrades — these are otherwise rare on the open market
- Common surname among the clan: Stojanović, shared by Mr. Zip, matriarch Mira, and cousin Vanya — earlier wiki references to “Dianvich”/“Dianovich” were a transcription error dating back to Session 00
- Has its own racing culture and racers, including Peaches, who regularly races the Blacktop Saints — the two clans clearly interact, at least informally, despite the territorial tension
- Session 09: the camp’s coffee is bought “wholesale” and is much better than anything at Kenny’s workshop
- Session 09: the clan cares more about wandering the desert with their automobiles than about racing itself, apart from cheering on Mr. Zip. There’s no spare nitrous lying around, and fuel is too precious for joyrides
- Session 09: the Blacktop Saints’ camp is about eight miles north, roughly fifteen minutes’ drive
- Camp cook (nicknamed “Mumbles”) provides well-regarded home cooking; visitors who stay the night are fed and welcomed to dance around the campfire, even ones the camp is wary of
Open Questions
- What is Ziptown’s actual location relative to Night City and South Bay?
- Formal leadership structure — is Mira Stojanovic the clan’s actual leader, or just its business dealer?
- How serious is the brewing conflict with the Pacifica Confederacy and their allies, the Blacktop Saints?
