Port Fantôme
Overview
A drift city off the coast of Fortress Kourou in French Guiana. Kenny Log-ins grew up here, watching orbital launches from the shoreline. The proximity to the EEC’s equatorial launch site defined the character of the place — rockets going up were a constant backdrop.
Kenny left after being press-ganged into a debt-repayment job following his family’s death, which eventually took him to orbit and landed him in Night City.
Known Connections
- Kenny Log-ins — grew up here; still has unnamed connections (a friend and a childhood enemy)
- Fortress Kourou — the EEC launch site; defines the region economically and politically
Known Facts
-
Session 07: a decommissioned Continental Brands spaceship sits derelict just offshore — not decommissioned voluntarily, per Zach the Hot Dog Maniac. The local drift community is possessive of its derelict ships, so acquiring it won’t be simple; it also needs an engine, which the Pacifica Confederacy recently obtained
-
Session 09: no roads lead there. Kenny grew up around boats, jet skis, and small planes and never saw a car until Night City. The drift runs on old, cobbled-together tech, which let him recognize and fix the Blacktop Saints’ decades-old water purifier on sight
-
Session 09: the crew confirmed the plan is to get the orbital engine Baby Girl down to the derelict hulk here
Open Questions
- What is Port Fantôme’s relationship to Fortress Kourou — tolerated, useful, or a thorn in the EEC’s side?
- Who are Kenny’s friend and childhood enemy from the drift?
- Will the derelict CB ship actually be the crew’s way off-world for the prospective Moon job?
Appearances
- Session 00 — Established as Kenny Log-ins’ home
- Session 07 — Named as the location of a derelict CB spaceship needed for a prospective Moon job
- Session 09 — Kenny describes growing up here to Peaches; confirmed as the destination for the orbital engine
