Rook
Overview
Real name Micah Serrano. Kenny Log-ins’ childhood rival from the same Drift crew as Breaker and Annie Linux — a friendship Rook privately experienced as a competition Kenny never realized was happening. Part of Kenny’s life path, unconfirmed in play so far.
Known Facts
- Resented Kenny growing up: Kenny could repair anything, came from a respected edgerunner family, and had people naturally turn to him — all things Rook felt he was owed instead
- After Kenny’s family disappeared, Rook was the one who told him the corporation held him responsible for their debts — and reportedly offered the “solution” that led directly to the job that sent Kenny into orbit: “Finish the job, and the debt will be erased.”
- His exact betrayal during that job is unconfirmed — versions range from deliberately informing corporate security for personal gain, to genuinely believing he was protecting the kids from something worse
- Now prefers indirect retaliation — working through employers, gangs, Lawmen, and administrative systems rather than confronting Kenny directly
- His own framing of what he did: “I didn’t send you away. I got you out. Everything you became afterward happened because I gave you the chance you were too naïve to take.”
Open Questions
- What did he actually do, and why?
- Does he know the real fate of Kenny’s family?
- Would he ever come to Night City himself, or only act through intermediaries?
