Don Swayze

Overview

Lieutenant of The Second Sons and Kenny Log-ins’ primary contact with the gang. Named and surgically restyled after Don Swayze, younger brother of Patrick Swayze.

Known Facts

  • Second-in-command of The Second Sons under “Eric Roberts”
  • Runs the crew at Goose Salvage, the Second Sons’ salvage yard base
  • Kenny’s day-to-day point of contact for the workshop protection arrangement
  • Has undergone surgery and cyberware modification to resemble Don Swayze
  • Genuinely charmed by Broker — opened up after Broker made an impression
  • Strongly anti-Vilify; the Second Sons actively oppose Piranha drug distribution in their territory
  • Knows about the Escalante cargo connection (named the company when it came up; may have more intel)
  • Received a selfie from Kenny posing while pouring Vilify down a storm drain; responded with a warning: increased reports of activity underneath the streets, possibly people camping down there; told Kenny to “keep aware”
  • Deal with Kenny: clean up and restore the Schroeder’s Theater projector for Good Movie Night → protection fee drops to zero
  • Calls Kenny “Ed” on occasion (in character)
  • Mentioned crew members: “Clint” (handles repairs at the salvage yard); “Eric” (the leader, impatient, best approached with gifts)

Open Questions

  • What does he actually know about the Escalante package and Continental Brands? He named the company unprompted — possibly more intel than he’s shared
  • What is “underneath the streets”? The warning about increased activity was specific enough to suggest he knows something beyond rumors
  • How much loyalty does he have to “Eric Roberts” versus his own judgment?
  • What would it take for him to become a more active ally rather than just a contact?

Appearances

  • Session 00 — Mentioned as Kenny’s gang contact
  • Session 01 — First on-screen appearance; gave up intel on the Piranhas and drug activity; Good Movie Night deal struck
  • Session 02 — Texted Kenny in response to a Vilify-pouring selfie: “Be careful — getting increased reports about activity underneath the streets. Just keep aware.”
  • Session 03 — Kenny delivered Good Movie Night at Goose Salvage: Death Ring, Red Line, and a talking cat film for Eric Roberts; Don Swayze declared that “those Piranhas wouldn’t dare come whoop whooping during a proper Good Movie Night”; deal fulfilled, protection fee reduced to zero
